Fixxer Betrays Vox After Title Loss

Vinny the Fixxer berates his X-Crew partner, Ryan Vox, after connecting with the savage Clothesline from Camden as punishment for their loss to the IIA.

It was on March 15th, 44 BC, that Julius Caesar was brutally betrayed on the floor of the Roman Senate, by his good friend Marcus Brutus. It seems only fitting then that at the Mid Atlantic Wrestling Alliance’s aptly named “The Ides of March” event, a similar betrayal was destined to take place. During the long awaited MAWA Tag Team Title bout between the champions, the X-Crew, and the challengers, the I.I.A., chaos erupted in the ring. An inadvertent boot to the head caused referee Rico Suave Jr. to fall unconscious, opening the door for the X-Crew to engage in underhanded tactics in an attempt to retain their titles. As Vinny the Fixxer restrained “The Chicago Hot Shot” Joey Greco, Ryan Vox retrieved his title belt from ringside. Just as Vox was about to lay out the curtailed Greco, the Chicago Hot Shot broke free with the Fixxer winding up on the receiving end of the foreign object’s blow. The Fixxer toppled out of the ring, allowing Pat Shamrock to besiege a dumbfounded Vox with a devastating pile driver. Greco made the cover as a woozy Suave began the count. Three seconds later, the Irish Italian Americans were the new Mid Atlantic Wrestling Alliance Tag Team champions! After Shamrock and Greco collected their newly won titles and headed back to the locker room, the X-Crew remained in the ring to bemoan their bitter defeat. It was then that Vinny the Fixxer suddenly and unexpectedly blasted his partner with the dreaded “Clothesline from Camden,” knocking Vox senseless. Just as Caesar was betrayed by Brutus all those centuries ago, so too was Ryan Vox now being betrayed by his partner, Vinny the Fixxer. The Fixxer proceeded to unmercifully beat Vox for what seemed like several minutes, as the time keeper furiously rang the bell as a call for help. That call was answered by Yams, the Working Man, who stormed to the ring as Vinny the Fixxer made his retreat. When reached for comment on his brutal attack, the Fixxer stated, “I didn't dump 275 pounds of worthlessness named Joey Greco to be burdened by carrying another 125 pounds of walking weakness.” referring to his betrayal of his former tag team partner, Joey Greco, at Winter Warfare. Ironically, it was the X-Crew’s double-crossing of “The Chicago Hot Shot” that directly led to the formation of the Irish-Italian Americans. “My time in MAWA has been nothing but being a goon,” the Fixxer explained, “from a lackey and human shield for Greco to being the workhorse of two tag teams. I was brought in to fix Greco’s problems, but the whole time it was Joey Greco and Ryan Vox who were the problem! Those eleven months as champions? They were carried on my back. My. Back! Well, that time is over. No more being the henchman. No more picking up anybody else’s slack. The time of the Fixxer is now. The Straight Edge Era is upon us. The way I see it, the Mid Atlantic Wrestling Alliance needs to be straightened out and I’m just the man to fix it.” Many MAWA fans, however, were left wondering at “The Ides of March” as to why Yams, the Working Man would come to the aid of the beleaguered Vox. "I intervened because there's only so much one man can take. I couldn't sit in the back and watch Vinny bully Ryan Vox,” Yams disclosed. “I understand that friends have their differences and thought that maybe he was trying to teach him a lesson - of which I still don't approve – but what Vinny was doing was not ‘fixxing’ anything. That? That was abuse and that's where I draw the line." It’s painfully obvious, especially to Ryan Vox, that Vinny the Fixxer is finished with the X-Crew. The question that now lingers is what is next for the “Vicious” Vox. Rumors now swirl as to whether Vox will strike out into singles competition or look for a new partner to continue on as a tag team. Perhaps Yams, the Working Man? “Look, I just helped the guy out that one time,” Yams was quick to dispel the gossip. “Vox was blind-sided. Never saw it coming. If the Fixxer had a beef with Vox, take it to him face-to-face. Don’t stab a brother in the back. So I put an end to it. Don’t make it out to be anything more than it was.” Ryan Vox did not return mawaprowrestling.com’s request for comment. As such, only time will tell what future awaits “Vicious” Ryan Vox in the Mid Atlantic Wrestling Alliance. Despite this uncertainty, the one thing MAWA fans can be sure of is that this story is far from over.
