To say that the odds were stacked against Pat Shamrock coming into his MAWA title defense against "Mean" Mark Mest would be putting it lightly. Mest had got the best of Shamrock a whopping twenty of twenty-one times in the long storied history between these two veterans.

Pat Shamrock again came up short to his long nemesis "Mean" Mark Mest in this very lopsided feud. Shamrock went on the MAWA Power Hour podcast to talk before the match about his confidence going into Winter Warfare despite his dismal record against Mest. Despite his best efforts, Pat Shamrock wasn't able to defeat the big man this time either, losing his cherished MAWA Heavyweight Championship to "Mean" Mark Mest.

The outside assistance of Dave Gumaer and brother Troy Mest was a huge help for Mest in this one as well. Troy Mest even getting so involved as to hold the arm up of Mest while being put into a sleeperhold (pictured above). Mest was eventually kicked out of the ringside area and sent to the back after great debate between him and Commissioner Drew Templar.

Mest moves on to face all challengers, but not before recovering. During his match with Shamrock, Mest appeared to have done some damage to his leg so you can bet the time off until MAWAPalooza will be both welcome and benefitial. Odds are very good that we will see him defend his title at MAWAPalooza 4.
